Family Photos - March 2014

E has to go out of town for a few months so, before he left, I wanted to get some family photos. The last ones we had done were when I was still pregnant with S and we were long overdue! It was just a quick set up and I took them myself, but I love the way they turned out (imperfections and all) and I'm so glad we took the time to do them!

4 Year Old Birthday Interview

So, N actually turned 4 on March 5th. I'm a little late at posting this (almost a month!), but better late than never. Right?

A Week in Pictures: Mar 2 - Mar 8

March 5 - It was the big guy's 4th birthday!! I can't believe how time has flown! I remember his little newborn cry like it was yesterday (it sounded like a duck). Now he's a big ol' preschooler with his own thoughts and opinions... But that's ok. I sat him down and had a long talk with him and asked him not to grow up anymore and he said ok. So I think we're good now. He'll stay 4 forever. (right?)

A Week in Pictures: Feb 23 - Mar 1

February 25 - After several days of rain and snow, the kids were starting to feel cooped up. So, even though it was a very rainy day, we decided to go for a walk. There is a walking trail a few blocks from our house that leads to a fun little park. It was just what the kids needed.

Exploring Around Ft. Gordon, GA

These are photos from a while ago, but I was looking through the photo album and just adored them! So I wanted to share them. We were living in Georgia at the time. My father-in-law was visiting and we all decided to explore one of the old cemeteries in town. It was absolutely beautiful. We even saw some from a group of Confederate soldiers from the Civil War.

N had a fun time drawing in the sand while we walked around.

A Week in Pictures: Feb 16 - Feb 22

February 16 - We went out for the day and spent some time outside. We went to Reagan International Airport and looked at some ruins nestled between the parking structures, then we spent some time out at Mount Vernon.

February 11 - We played down in the playroom together for a long time and they had so much fun playing dress up. N chose their outfits. S loved her lion outfit so much that she didn't take it off until bedtime.

February 13 - S always gets into the drawer and pulls all of the bowls out. Today, she decided to take it in a more literal direction.

February 2 - N and dad made chocolate cake together. 

February 5 - S was "helping" me paint the entryway closet.

January 26 - They were watching Wild Kratts and acting out the scenes as they watched.

January 28 - Italian Chicken Parmesan with Oven Roasted Asparagus.

January 29 - They just sat and happily played Duplo together.

February 1 - They love to sit in the rocking chair together.

A Week in Pictures: Jan 19 - Jan 25

January 21 - We've had tons of snowstorms lately and decided to take advantage of one and let the kids go play while E cleaned off the cars and I shoveled the walks. They had so much fun! It was the first time S has ever been in the snow and I wasn't sure how she'd do, but she just thought it was so much fun! When N was ready to go inside, I tried to bring her in too and she ran from me!! haha

January 14 - N's first day of school! We of course had to get some photos with Opus, just like his dad's first day of school. He had a blast at school and kept asking when he could go back! 

January 17 - On a whim, we decided to bundle the kids up and go for a night walk around some of the monuments in D.C. (I love that we can do that!)

A Week in Pictures: Jan 5 - Jan 11

January 11 - We went to Discover the Dinosaurs at the State Fairgrounds. They had all sorts of animatronic dinosaur displays, inflatables, a dino dig... All sorts of stuff! N even got to ride a T-Rex!!

A Week in Pictures: Jan 1 - Jan 4

January 1 - We went to ZooLights at the National Zoo. They had the zoo open at night and it was all lit up by Christmas lights. We had the kids all bundled up for the freezing weather in layers of blankets (and coats and hats and...) and they had a really cool slide there that you went down on innertubes. I thought for sure that scaredy-cat N would back out at the last minute, but I couldn't have been more wrong! Not only did he go down, but he loved it and went 2 or 3 more times!

March 10 - S had THREE of her fingers in her mouth as she slept! I was a little worried she'd choke!

March 13 - N received his birthday present from Uncle B and Aunt C!! Jurassic Park Legos!!

March 14 - Time for a haircut!

March 16 - I guess this means summer is upon us...

A Week in Pictures: March 3-9

March 5 - For N's birthday we all went to Hoppy feet just down the road from our house. He loves it there and had a blast. He ran around, played with dad, found a little girl to play with, played games, and - when he got tired of me taking pictures - he put his finger in his nose every time I brought out the camera!!

February 26 - S napping.

February 28 - N loves getting his Lego Club Jr in the mail. He really reads through it and stops every once in a while to tell us about something that's in it.

March 1 - N got his birthday card and stickers from Great Grandma. She is too sweet! It was just what he wanted!!

A Week in Pictures: Feb 17-23

February 17 - N had a long day! We went to Costco and did some shopping and ate some pizza and afterwards we went home and had ice cream for dessert. He was so tired, he fell asleep sitting up before he could even finish his ice cream!

February 19 - S loves playing with that cute baby in the mirror! She kept talking, making faces, and laughing at her reflection.

February 21 - We went for a walk today and I brought some water in a Thermal and N kept saying it was his and carried it the whole way. He sure is active!

A Week in Pictures: Feb 10-16

February 10 - We had a great day outside. N "raked" the leaves with the broom then N and dad cuddled on the hammock. :)

February 14 - We had a wonderful Valentine's Day! My mother in law visited for the long weekend and we had a whole big day full of activities for Valentine's Day. We painted with water, we colored, we made Valentine's Day Cards, we read books, and we made cookies. Then after all of our crafts we played and cuddled. N and S had so much fun spending time with Grandma B. It was a great day!!! :)

A Week in Pictures: Feb 3-9

February 6 - I took N (and S) out front so N could ride his Power Wheel while we wait for dad to get home from work. He is almost too big for this one already, so maybe he'll be getting a new one for his birthday? (Which is less than a month away!) -- When he spotted my camera he lined up his toys and took a picture of them while saying "N try!"

February 7 - N and I were goofing off and taking turns wearing these glasses and he insisted that it was S's turn! :)

A Week in Pictures: Jan 27 - Feb 2

January 29 - I was cleaning the play area and found this on the wall. I suspect it's from when E let N have some crayons to draw...

January 30 - Our power went out while I was cooking dinner (luckily most of it was already done!) It stayed out for about an hour so we ate dinner by candle light then let N watch a movie on my laptop until it came back on.

February 1 - N being cute while eating lunch.

February 2 - S sleeping in dad's arms and N being goofy (isn't he always?) He was goofing off with these glasses while he was supposed to be brushing his teeth before bed. :)
